While some of the exercises that Whistl sends are meditation and mindfulness, most of the exercises are like little games designed by Mental Health Experts.

One of the basic principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is - “Be Better to Feel Better”.

WHISTL is a Mental Fitness app that sends you daily mental health exercises customized as per your mental profile.

These exercises have been curated by a team of experts consisting of psychologists and academics. We have gamified your Mental Fitness journey to keep you engaged through a reward mechanism. Every time you finish an exercise, you earn points. As you keep accumulating points and keep moving forward on your Mental Fitness journey, your level increases and you also receive badges corresponding to your level.

The purpose of Whistl is to enable the users to work on their mental health in a structured, quantifiable and regular manner. Our approach is based on Lifestyle interventions that makes it easy for the user to pro-actively work on their mental health instead of being reactive about it.

To get a common misconception out of the way first, mental wellbeing isn’t about mental
illnesses alone – they are but a subset of overall mental health. Like how one might go for a run to stay fit or even thrive, Mental Fitness is meant to do the same for your mind. We often forget that brains need care and exercising too! We need to put work in to unlock self-growth.

How does WHISTL work?
The WHISTL Score
We evaluate a person’s mental wellness on the six Pillars of WHISTL. The results are displayed in form of a graph, which we call the WHISTL Score.
This gives us an idea of where the user currently is on their wellbeing journey – so we can address specific needs and design their experience better on the platform. It also gives the user an idea of where they might be on their self-improvement journey, and what needs work.

Daily Exercises
Based on a person’s WHISTL Score, we curate a daily gamified mental workout regimen for them. These exercises are not just meditation and mindfulness exercises, they are more than that. Though meditation & mindfulness also are included

They are also rewarded with Experience Points (XP points) upon task completion. Accumulating these XP pointers helps the user to “Level Up”, indicating that they have progressed in their journey to Mental Wellness, and also that they are now ready for a more evolved workout regime.
