In order to implement the policy of the Government regarding the use of the official language Marathi in government affairs, the Government of Maharashtra established the Directorate of Languages ​​under Government Resolution General Administration Department No. OFL-1159B, dated July 6, 1960.

While implementing the policy of Government regarding official language Marathi, this policy includes the following: -

1. Creating scientific and technical glossaries on various topics through modern technology, developing definitions required for governance, creating vocabulary.

2. To translate the Central and State Acts and Rules into Marathi, to make it available to the public in a concise format as well as on the website.

4. To spread Marathi orthography.

5. Maintain uniformity of terms by interacting with translators in Vidhan Bhavan, High Court and other offices.

6. To facilitate translation into English and Urdu on honorarium basis through the nomination of linguists.

7. To carry out the work of translation of reports etc. from the Central Government, Corporations etc. on honorarium basis.

8. Application forms for Marathi and Hindi language examinations and typing and shorthand examinations and examination schedules, question sets will be made available on the website.

9. Typing test on computer.

10. To conduct office inspections to ensure that Marathi is used 100% in government offices.
