SAATHII, a national non-profit organization, is significantly contributing to National AIDS Control Programme to achieve “Elimination of Vertical Transmission of HIV and Syphilis (EVTHS)”. Project Śvetana creates ownership among SACS and NHM, provides technical assistance to private health sector and professional medical associations to address the gaps envisaged in PPTCT cascade services in 24 states and UTs.

SAATHII is the principle recipient (PR) to implement project Śvetana towards to achieve “Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV and Syphilis (EVTHS)” since 2015. Currently in Phase-III and “Śvetana'' delivers technical and catalytic assistance, engendering greater ownership of EMTCT activities by SACS, NHM and Private health sector and professional medical associations to address the gaps envisaged in HIV counseling and testing of pregnant women, identifying Pregnant Women Living with HIV (PWLHIV), and linking them to ART and PPTCT cascade services by working closely with Public and Private Health Care Providers in 24 states and Union territories It has contributed significantly in reducing the program gaps related to HIV screening, detection, uptake of cascade services and retention until 18 months. In NACP phase V, the national program is aiming to reach EMTCT targets by 2025-26.

The goal of Śvetana program is to continue and intensify its efforts to help India achieve and maintain EMTCT by ensuring reduction of mother to child transmission to <5% and increase HIV free survival between 2021 and 2024 in 24 states and union territories of India. The specific objectives and coverage targets that will contribute towards achieving the following objectives in 24 states/ UTs between 2021 and 2024 are as follows:
• Increase the HIV testing of pregnant women from 95% to 125%
• Ensure 100% ART initiation and continuation among HIV+ pregnant and lactating women
• Increase testing of spouses and partners of HIV+ pregnant and lactating women from 89% to 100%
• Increase early infant diagnosis (EID) among HIV exposed infants at two months from 83% to 100%

In Phase III, we work in 424 districts / 23 states /UTs: Andaman& Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand and West Bengal
