Suzie

Addiction Care North Netherlands treats people who struggle with different types of addictions in all degrees. What patients have in common is that they find it difficult to resist stimuli between treatments. Suzie is the app that helps them do this; Suzie calms down in a tense situation, so that the incentive to use diminishes. Thanks to Suzie, the mood is over.

Suzie is an app that supports clients with:

- emotion regulation
- behavioral change
- crisis management


The app can be used with different target groups:

- clients with a variety of problems: psychological problems, psychiatric disorders, developmental disorders, personality disorders and addiction.
- clients of all ages: children, young people, adults and the elderly.
- clients in different treatment settings: outpatient, part-time, inpatient, residential and forensic.


Purpose of using the app is:

- stimulating self-management
- reducing harmful behavior for the client and others
- promoting effectiveness and continuity of treatment/guidance


Advantages of the app over a paper or digital version of a signaling plan:

- the content of the app can be precisely adapted to the individual wishes and needs of the user
- the app contains text, but it can also store personal photos, videos and music
- Contacts can be easily reached via the app
- the app only provides that information that is desired at a particular time and no more
- the app is always at your fingertips via the mobile phone

The app is the intellectual property of Drs. M. Westera, psychotherapist and GIOS, who works at Addiction Care North Netherlands. On request, expertise can be promoted with regard to the use and application of the app. Scientific research is also being conducted into the effect of its use.
