Surah Baqarah Read & Listen

Surah Al-Baqarah, commonly known as Surah Baqarah, is one of the longest surahs of the Holy Quran; it has 286 verses. Surah Al-Baqarah is a comprehensive Surah with many lessons. In the Surah, Allah tells us that we should remember that the Day of Judgment will be upon us and that we should remember that this world is only temporary.

For Muslims, there is no doubt that the Quran is the guidebook for all over the human living. Some of the first verses of the Quran Surah Al-Baqarah mentioned the real deal of the Quran as a guidebook for those who have put their faith in Allah.

Allah begins the surah with a strong statement, saying that the Quran is the Book regarding which there is no uncertainty, which guides the God-conscious people. This is an emphatic statement regarding the importance and authenticity of Allah’s word.

Abu Mas’ud Al-Badri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, ‘He who recites the two Ayat [verses] at the end of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.‘ (Al- Bukhari and Muslim)

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported, ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Satan runs away from the house in which Surah Baqarah is recited.’ Sahih Muslim:780.

In the house where Surah Baqarah is recited Shaytan will not enter. Abu Hurayrah (RA) said that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Do not turn your houses into graves. Verily, Shaytan does not enter the house where Surah Al-Baqarah is recited” (Tirmidhi)
