Entrepreneurs in the developing world are qualified for loans at a local level and then make their appeals on Spark. When you charitably give on the platform, you give the seed capital for a loan administered by in-country partners that is later recycled back into the ecosystem. Our app makes it possible to get updates and directly message the borrowers you choose support. We truly feel that $100 can save a life. Give as little as what it costs for a latte and you can make a big difference.

For donors, please note this is NOT a personal loan and therefore you will not receive any return. The term "lend" on Spark is for symbolic purposes only since your donation does indeed fuel a loan within each country.

For borrowers, your application for a loan is subject to policies of the specific partner bank that is issuing the loan. This will be communicated to you either before or just after you submit your loan application on Spark. You will have the opportunity to deny the loan if you feel that terms and conditions of the loan are unfair.

Join the Journey does not partner with any lending agency that requires more than 15 percent or less than 60 days to repay a loan. Minimum repayment period is three months and maximum is one year.

Join the Journey typically issues charitable capital to our partner lending agencies in order to make the equivalent of $100 loans which is usually paid back in 6 months, at about $16 per month.
