​First English is an app that uses the 'Rote' learning method to help the student learn the very basics of English.

'Rote' learning is the memorization of information based on repetition. The current trend is to use a method called 'meaningful' learning, which encourages the linking of already stored information within the brain. But to get to that point, first you must learn the basics 'the alphabet', 'numbers', 'numerals' and 'maths symbols'.

You cannot read or write without knowing the alphabet.
You cannot add or subtract without knowing numbers and maths symbols.

The best method to learn the basics is still the 'rote’ learning method.
