Background SBV
The Selbsthilfe-Bauverein eG (SBV) is the largest housing association in Flensburg. It was founded in 1949 and officially entered in the cooperative register in 1950. The SBV builds, modernizes and refurbishes apartments which it rents out to members of the cooperative. The business area is the entire Flensburg city area.
The housing cooperative's portfolio includes around 7,400 apartments with a total living space of around 450,000 m2 as well as commercial units, garages and parking spaces. In addition, the housing cooperative manages around 3,500 properties for third parties.
The cooperative has around 10,000 members with more than 150,000 business shares.
