Sahyadri Pratishthan was established in the year 2009. Through this organization, programs like movement for the conservation of the stronghold, blood donation camps & the honor of the ex-heroic soldiers are organized. Most importantly Shivarath Yatra - Shivaji Maharaj's palanquin ceremony of five days from the capital Raigad to the fortress Shivneri (birthplace from Workplace) is organized by Sahyadri Pratishthan every year. There are various lectures, motivational songs(Povade), mardani(courage full) games and preliminary programs in the Palkhi festival.


Fort Conservation -

On land and ocean, the strength of stone stands strong over years. The Maratha heartland is strengthened by over 350 citadel – the biggest number in any state in India. Here, the blood red edged sword of the Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's gleams with the pride of an undefeated warrior.

The once-proud bastions of armed force, today stand noiseless and noble. Battered by the climate gods, frequently plundered, walls disintegrating in segments and rooftops blown away, yet the castle of Maharashtra radiate power and inspire awe.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj framed the beginning the Maratha empire in the 17th century. While battling with Mughals in the north and Adilshah as well as Nizam in the Deccan, the Maratha warrior had constructed few hundred forts.

Many of the historical sites – particularly castle – are in a terrible shape, with no conservation or assurance against degeneration because of climate and deliberate destruction. Few of the castle is on the verge of being destroyed by quarrying action around it.

Sahyadri Pratishthan always participates and help with the conservation and protection of this castle. We as a team voluntarily visit stronghold and conduct various activities for restoration and preservation of castle.we are working on stronghold restoration for over 7 years and has worked on over 115 forts.
