FoodGate Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka (SL) Food Gate mobile app is part of the Sri Lankan Government’s latest programme on ensuring food security and nutrition. With various governance structures and processes related to this programme, this app provides the platform at the grass-root level to capture actual data on the following 03 main areas;

- Details of crops cultivated in each land block
- Details of food insecure families
- Details of malnutrition children and pregnant mothers

At the initial stage, the users of this app would be the enumerators who will visit the lands of the entire country to capture above data which will be transferred to a central repository. At the second stage, this app intends to be transformed in to a self-sourced app so that the land owners themselves could update their data which has been initially captured by the enumerators. The intention is to update the datasets monthly to capture the progress of the main 03 areas mentioned above.
