D.O.G. It is the result of meticulous archival work to organize, day by day, the history that Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer lived with the first and first faithful of Opus Dei. But instead of following the chronological order that dictates the passage of time, you will do it with the calendar of each day. From there, you can reconstruct much of the history of the Work. With it, you will be able to follow the different events step by step, download them to your personal Calendar and set yourself a reminder ... There is an event for each day of the year and, in each one, you will find what happened "on such a day as today" of the year "x", with which you will be in charge of how the events unfolded. The event will also be accompanied by a photograph that will illustrate - with graphic images - many of the adventures that Saint Josemaría lived with the first followers, as well as a link in case you want to delve into the details of that event.
Opus Dei was born on October 2, 1928 and for its foundation, God made use of Saint Josemaría. An instrument that described himself by saying that he only had three things: "26 years, thank God and good humor." Over the years, the fruits that have emerged as a result of their generous correspondence have been infinite: less than 100 years have passed since Saint Josemaría received this message from Heaven and there are many faithful of Opus Dei and the people who they receive the warmth and training of Opus Dei. You will see that there have also been many anecdotes, sufferings, joys, lights and shadows that have been experienced. This App can be an opportunity to relive them with infinite gratitude.
Saint Josemaría liked to say "I always affirm - it is the plain truth - that the history of Opus Dei will have to be written on our knees, because it is the history of the mercies of God."
In fact, since 1931 Saint Josemaría used the ejaculation of "Deo Omnis Gloria!" (For God all the Glory!) As a way to reaffirm that Christ reigns over all wills and dominates everything created, in his desire to hide and disappear. And in such a way it became an ejaculation of constant use, that on many occasions he summarized it by noting on his papers -with his very personal spelling- the initials of D.O.G. Hence, we have chosen it as the name of our App.
