Referencing competency is the knowledge, skills, and ability to properly write, recognize, and use citation styles, software, and capability to properly disseminate the information to others. Competency in referencing is very important especially for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and academician. However, currently, there is a lack of tools to measure the level of referencing competency, as well as its relation to an individual’s performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is twofold; first, to determine the level of referencing competency. Second, to predict the expected individual performance based on the achievement of certain referencing competency level. Among the special features of the application are (1) follow-up questionnaire (with a short-messaging system), (2) individual performance predictor, (3) referencing competency dashboard, and (4) competency mapping.
