BANG

Becoming A New Generation [BANG] Program formerly known as True Love Waits [TLW] is a program of Family Life Network [FLN] that initially promoted abstinence among the children and the youth since April 2004. This program was run in some primary and secondary schools as well as some universities and institutions of higher learning. The idea behind this program was to help the youth realize that the decision they had made to abstain from sexual activity before marriage or to stop sexual activity if they were sexually active, was one of the most important and wisest decisions a young person could ever make. This enabled them to cherish and value their sexuality as the most precious thing only next to their very lives.

Having understood that, the youth were encouraged to hold each other accountable through positive peer pressure. They were also challenged to live responsible lives while instilling in themselves other positive values such as work, integrity, proactivity, patriotism [love for the country regardless of political affiliation], self-control, etc. In this effort, the youth were encouraged to support one another as they went through the journey of life, heading towards success, future happiness in marriage, and a bright future while preserving the wonderful gift of sex for the right time of marriage.

The BANG Program which started in 2015 has been expanded to go beyond abstinence, to raising a new generation of youth who will have a purpose and direction in life, have the right attitude and mindset, will be responsible, will have life skills, etc, and will possess what it takes to be positive change agents in the transformation of our motherland Uganda in their generation.
