ANS APP
The Algemeen Nijmegen Student Magazine (ANS) is a student magazine from and for students of Radboud University Nijmegen (RU). ANS was created after the dissolution of the Nijmegen Student magazine Tegenspraak. After a survey among students, it appeared that there was still plenty of interest in a magazine by students that could compete with the university magazine, KU-News (renamed Vox in 2001).
In the first years the editors were personally active in the student protests and trade union. This was also often reported on. This gave the magazine a left image, which they would break with again ten years later. The new ANS generation wanted independent, critical journalism. As a result, the policy of Student Union AKKU also had to be followed critically and not just, as was customary before, the more traditional and / or right-wing circles within the university.
The magazine has a circulation of 4,500 copies and is distributed 7 times a year on the campus and the inner city of Nijmegen. It has 32 pages, 16 of which are in color. After various internet experiments, the ANS-Online website was launched in September 2005 with daily student news and its own sections.
